Classical guitarist Catherine O’Kelly is an emerging artist, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. As a member of Tedesco Duo with flutist Arielle Burke, she has performed at The Rivers School Conservatory for the Seminar on Contemporary Music, The Shirley Meeting House and The Saybrook at Haddam. As a soloist she has performed at numerous venues including The University of Connecticut, The Rivers School Conservatory and The Shirley Meeting House, and she has performed as the solo guitarist in Four Rhodian Scenes by Thomas McGah with The Hartt School’s Capitol Winds.

Catherine earned her BA in music and philosophy from Vassar College in 2011, graduating with honors, and earned her MM in guitar performance in 2013 at The Hartt School, where she studied classical guitar with Richard Provost. Currently Catherine is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in classical guitar performance at The Hartt School in West Hartford, CT. She has earned a position with The Hartt School’s Honors Chamber Music Program, Performance 20/20, providing her a full scholarship for her doctoral studies. She has also performed in master classes for Oscar Ghiglia, Jason Vieaux, Odair Assad, Sergio Assad, Andrew York and Vladimir Gorbach.

Don is an experienced musician of 40 years, with 15 years devoted to teaching guitar to all different ages and levels. While Don teaches many different styles like pop, country, folk, etc., he specializes in Rock Guitar.

Don has studied at the Hartford Conservatory of Music and has attended a variety of classes at the Atlanta Institute of Music. He has also studied privately with many incredibly talented teachers through the years, including Alex Skolnick (Testament, Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, etc.), who not only taught Don how to improve his guitar skills, but also guided Don to become a compassionate, caring teacher.

Don is a dedicated instructor who will go above and beyond to make sure you fully understand what is being taught. He focuses on making lessons fun by teaching you how to play guitar through actual riffs and songs you love. You learn about music by playing music!

For those who have some experience playing already, Don will delve into developing your skills in areas like rhythm guitar, lead guitar, music theory, composing songs, and more. You will receive a solid foundation in musicianship while still having a blast playing tons of music!

Jaclyn Jones


Suzuki, Classical, and Electric Guitar Instructor

Jaclyn has been performing solo and chamber music for over 10 years and is currently working toward her Master of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the Hartt School of Music.

Jaclyn earned her Bachelor’s degree from Hartt in 2012 with performing arts scholarships and was selected to perform in three 20/20 Honors Chamber Music concerts. She was a featured solo artist for the NJ Guitar & Mandolin Society as well as the Labella Strings sponsored concert series. Jaclyn studied under Christopher Ladd and Richard Provost and has performed in masterclasses for internationally renowned artists such as Oscar Ghiglia, Scott Tennant, Odair Assad, Antigoni Goni, Elena Papandreou, Julian Gray, and Jorge Caballero.Jaclyn is an active member of the violin/viola and guitar duo 10strings and the Hartford Classical Guitar ensemble. She has performed solo and chamber music for schools, universities, museums, art centers, churches, libraries, nonprofit organizations, local television, and weddings throughout the New England area.
