Book Buddies is a program that supports youth literacy, social emotional learning, creativity, and fun! We choose special books that support helping our youth in make their world a better place from an early age and pair it with an engaging craft activity. During the current COVID-19 pandemic our program has gone virtual for our scheduled read alongs with take-home craft activities to pick up prior to the event so youth can enjoy working on them all together (even while we're apart). Plus youth participants get a book to keep! Stay tuned here for upcoming event registration links!

Jazz and Friends 2021!
We're joining the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Welcoming Schools, the National Education Association, and the American Association of School Librarians to show our support for transgender and non-binary youth in this year's Jazz and Friends Community Reading. We will be reading "My Rainbow" by Trinity and DeShanna Neal, and "I am Jazz" by Jessica Herthel and Jazz Jennings. These books are wonderful as mirrors for kids who are transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming AND windows for kids who aren't to learn ways to be an ally and supportive to people who might be different than they are.
We will also be doing a fun craft together. Activity kits will be available for participants that will include a copy of "My Rainbow" and all necessary craft supplies. An email containing information for pick up will be sent after registration for the event closes.
Folks who wish to join us to show their support for transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive youth are welcome to join the virtual reading as well. Link is on the eventbrite page.
