  1. The decision to close or delay school will be made by the Superintendent on the basis of the best information available.
  2. Announcements (notifications) as to the closing of school will be made via:
    • Phone
      • The District will use School Messenger to send a recorded phone message announcing school closings/delayed openings/early closings to parents using the "Alert Contact 1" and "Alert Contact 2" phone numbers provided by parents/guardians to each school.
      • In most cases, the District will also send a SMS text message as well to parents using the "Alert Contact 1" and "Alert Contact 2" phone numbers provided by parents/guardians to each school. However, you must also do a one-time "accept" to allow your phone to receive the text messages by doing the following: Send a text message to 68453 from your cell phone(s) and type in the word “yes” in the ‘compose message’ or ‘text message’ field.
    • Television (and their respective station website pages)
