Public Comment Scheduled for Feedback on Eastern Gateways Study
Capitol Region Council of Governments has Released the Draft Eastern Gateways Study Plan to Gather Public Feedback on the Draft Plan.
Hartford, Connecticut – The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) is seeking comments from the public on the draft Eastern Gateways Study Plan Recommendations. Since
2016, CRCOG Staff has been working with a consultant and stakeholders on a transportation study of the sections of Route 195 and Route 44 corridors in the towns of Bolton, Coventry, Mansfield and Tolland that lead to and from the UCONN Storrs campus. The final study product is an implementation and strategy plan that identifies transportation improvements that address current and long-range intermodal travel and community quality of life issues. This study presents an opportunity to build on the existing assets along the corridor while enhancing opportunities for economic vitality.
This study involved a robust public outreach process with six public meetings, three popup events, and interviews with town representatives and UConn, and a variety of other methods documented in the draft final plan. We had robust public participation in each of these meetings. We also received a number of comments at various points of the study, through emails, phone calls, questionnaires, surveys, comments at meetings, and written letters.
The draft plan for the Eastern Gateways study for public comment can be found at local libraries in the study area, Town Halls and at http://www.cteasterngateways.com. The public comment period is open until January 18, 2019.
