Superintendent Search 2021/2022

The Mansfield Board of Education is conducting a search for superintendent of Mansfield Public Schools to replace Kelly Lyman who has announced her retirement from public education at the end of this school year 2021-22.

The Board of Education has selected Cooperative Educational Services (CES) to assist with conducting this search.  The goal is to select a new superntendent by February 1, 2022 to allow ample time for a transition before the end of the school year and in preparation for moving into the new Mansfield Elementary School.

Cooperative Educational Services (CES)  is a Trumbull-based agency that provides support and services to school districts and communities in Fairfield County. It is one of the six Regional Educational Service Centers established by the state legislature more than 50 years ago to provide quality, cost-effective education resources, programs, and services to the state’s public schools. Executive searches is a unique service provided by CES, which has located qualified candidates to fill superintendent, principal and other school administrative positions for districts and schools throughout Connecticut, including the 2015 search that led to Kelly Lyman’s hire in Mansfield.

The Board of Education invites the community to participate in a public survey to help establish priorities in selection of a superintendent candidate.  Please complete this survey by  November 28 at this link:   https://www.ces.k12.ct.us/cf_forms/view.cfm?formID=272 

Additionally, CES will conduct a series of focus groups with key stakeholders including middle school students, certified and non-certified staff, school administrators, parents and the community.  These focus groups will help CES gather input from a variety of constituents on the desirable qualities and expertise the Board should be looking for in their new superintendent.
