Tax/Revenue Collections

This department is responsible for the billing, collection and record-keeping for motor vehicle taxes, real estate taxes, personal property taxes, sewer usage, parking tickets, refuse/trash and other miscellaneous accounts.

The policies and procedures set in place are dictated by the Connecticut State Statutes and the Town of Mansfield Ordinances.

Town of Mansfield Residents,

In an effort to continue taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the town hall will remain closed to the public. Tax payments can be sent through the mail, processed online (for a fee), or put in our secure drop box located near our office. For special circumstances, we will be accepting visitors by appointment only.

As a reminder, per the Executive Order 7-S authorized by Governor Lamont, we have elected to give our residents an extension to pay their personal, motor vehicle and real estate taxes until October 1, 2020. After this point interest will accrue at a rate of 1.5% per month starting from the original due date. No application process is necessary.

Non-residents, such as landlords and commercial properties have to apply and be approved for the deferment program. The application form is available on our departments website.

As always, feel free to contact us by either calling the office or emailing us directly.

Stay safe and healthy!
