The Mansfield Downtown Partnership (Partnership) has initiated a Request for Proposals (RFP) process to identify a qualified consultant (“Consultant”) to guide and execute a strategic planning process with our Board of Directors, community, and staff to produce a strategic plan for a mixed-use neighborhood known as Downtown Storrs, located in Mansfield, CT adjacent to the University of Connecticut (UConn).

PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
The consultant shall demonstrate a strong understanding of nonprofit organizations, their general structure and operations, excellent facilitation skills, and proven experience with strategic planning. In addition, consultants should be knowledgeable about the dynamics of mixed-use developments near higher education institutions, impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the future vitality of the businesses and people who occupy those places, and the local and national landscape for nonprofit organizations comparable to the Partnership.
Demonstration of at least five (5) consecutive years facilitating a community engagement process is required. Experience with strategic planning for mixed use developments and nonprofit organizations in southern New England is preferred.
